Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but it’s likely a minimum contract, and there’s no guarantee that the 23-year-old pro will still be on the roster when the season tips off in October.
Welsh appeared in 11 games for the Denver Nuggets and totaled 18 points, 5 assists, and 4 rebounds across 36 total minutes played. He also appeared in 20 G League contests, where he averaged 10.3 points, 8.1 rebounds, and 1.5 assists in 23.0 minutes per game.
The most intriguing aspect of Welsh’s game is his 3-point shooting from the center spot. He connected on 17 of his 37 3-point attempts across his NBA and G League stints last season, a 45.9% clip. That follows a strong senior year of college where he connected on 40.2% of his 112 3-point tries.
