The Charlotte Hornets have added a new uniform to their wardrobe. Today the team unveiled a purple version of the classic jerseys the team has been sporting in the past two seasons.
In 2017-18, the Hornets wore a slightly updated version of the teal uniform they wore in the early 90s. Last season, they wore white when they elected to wear throwbacks. This year, it’s purple. If you’ve been hoping to collect the entire trifecta, now’s your chance.
No word yet on how many times the team will wear these or what the dates will be, but based on recent seasons, it’s safe to assume the Hornets will rock these a dozen or so times throughout the course of next season. I’m assuming they’ll occasionally bring back the classic court as well.
And for what it’s worth, the team elected to have Dwayne Bacon model the entire unveiling. I’m sure that doesn’t really mean anything, but you can read into it if you want to.
