The NCAA announced a bunch of venues for a bunch of different events on Wednesday. That included several years of NCAA Tournament locations, one of which was the home of the Charlotte Hornets. Spectrum Center will host first and second round games of the men’s tournament in 2024, so go ahead and adjust your calendars accordingly.

Hornets President and Vice Chairman Fred Whitfield’s statement:

We are excited to have NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament games return to Spectrum Center in 2024. Hosting NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament games is very beneficial to our community. The games attract fans from across the country, create real economic impact for our local businesses and showcase our great city of Charlotte. We look forward to these upcoming first and second round games being played at Spectrum Center.

All of this is based on the assumption that we won’t be dealing with a global pandemic that prevents mass gatherings to watch men throw a ball through an orange cylinder. Given what we’ve had to deal with in 2020, planning things for 2024 seems optimistic, but we’re gonna look forward to it anyway.
