It was reported a few days ago that LaMelo Ball conducted an individual workout with the Minnesota Timberwolves, who own the number one overall pick in next week’s draft. Today, it was reported that Ball held a second workout, and the Charlotte Hornets were one of a small handful of teams in attendance.

The other teams present were the Golden State Warriors and the Detroit Pistons.
As Jonathan Givony notes in his story, it’s interesting that the Pistons were included in this. It implies that they’re aggressively trying to pull of a trade into the top three, as it’s almost certain Ball won’t fall to them at seven.
This news comes with very appropriate timing, as I just selected LaMelo Ball in SB Nation’s mock draft that was published earlier today.
This workout with Ball means the Hornets have worked out all three of the consensus top prospects. The workouts with Anthony Edwards and James Wiseman flew under the radar, and honestly this is the first I’ve seen that the Hornets conducted a workout with Wiseman at all.
