No word on the terms of the deal yet, but I’m fairly confident Biyombo will be taking a pay cut from the $17 million he made last season.
Biyombo will provide some veteran depth at the center spot after the Hornets added a couple of second round rookies in Vernon Carey Jr. and Nick Richards. He’s also a beloved presence in the locker room and will be a good influence on the Hornets young players.
Biyombo appeared in 53 games for the Hornets last season, starting 29. He averaged 7.4 points and 5.8 rebounds per game, and he even dribbled the ball a few times.
Biyombo’s signing brings the Hornets roster to 15 players, so this is the group we’ll see going into the season unless the Hornets make a trade in the coming days.
