Podcast: Press conferences, schedule release, win totals

We get caught up on all the odds and ends heading into the start of the preseason.

NBA: Atlanta Hawks at Charlotte Hornets Jeremy Brevard-USA TODAY Sports

This is probably the last podcast we’ll be doing before we have actual Charlotte Hornets basketball games to talk about, even if they’re preseason games. Before we hit the bullet points, I just wanna say there were a couple bits of connection problems near the end of the show. It doesn’t take away from the show at all, but I just want to acknowledge it so you guys know that I’m aware of it’s existence. Anyway, here’s the show:

  • The Gordon Hayward transaction is official and the Celtics got a trade exception for optics
  • More Bogdan Bogdanovic talk, this time centering around the reported incompetence of the Kings letting Bogdanovic walk
  • The scenarios that open up the $27-$29 million in cap space that Kupchak talked about in his media availability
  • What the above statement may mean about the future of Malik Monk in Charlotte
  • Kupchak’s LaMelo Ball story
  • PJ Washington playing at center and the gold dust that’s been poured upon him
  • The wonky pandemic-affected schedule
  • Our predictions for the top ten in the East
  • The Hornets have a comically low win total according to Vegas
