PJ Washington named to All Rookie Second Team

The Hornets rookie gets deserved praise for his strong all around season.

Charlotte Hornets rookie forward PJ Washington was named a Second Team All Rookie, as Tweeted on the official NBA Twitter account.

Washington is joined on the second team by Tyler Herro, Terence Davis, Coby White, and Rui Hachimura. The first team is Ja Morant, Kendrick Nunn, Brandon Clarke, Zion Williamson, and Eric Paschall.

I think there’s a very strong case that Washington should’ve made the first team over Paschall, but Paschall is likely the beneficiary of the national attention he received while the Warriors were repeatedly blown out on national television. That’s pretty impressive.

So at least one Hornet got some recognition in the postseason awards, even if it wasn’t quite as high an honor as he maybe deserved.
