The elder Ball brother ends up in the organization after some hemming and hawing.

To start this, I know what you're thinking. "But Jonathan, I'm an avid reader of At the Hive and read your post that said LiAngelo signed with the Hornets and was already heading to the Swarm. Why would they need to use a draft pick on him?" Well apparently there was some rule stuff that made him stay in the G League Draft. Well the Swarm got their guy anyway, taking him with the 14th overall pick, one pick after former Hornets great Lance Stephenson was taken by the Nuggets G League affiliate.

The other four players drafted by the Swarm:

  • Chudier Bile
  • Tyree White
  • Ikenna Ndugba
  • Isaiah Blackmon

Sorry to those guys for lumping them together after LiAngelo Ball, but Ball draws the clicks. That's the game we play.

Bile spent one season each at Northwestern State and Georgetown, where he put up good outside shooting numbers for a wing/forward. White is another forward that put up good all around numbers for Louisiana-Monroe. Ndugba is a somewhat local pick; he was most recently the starting point guard at Elon. Blackmon is a sharpshooting guard out of Saint Francis.
