The Charlotte Hornets announced Saturday that forward Gordon Hayward will miss the next four weeks with a right foot sprain.

For a team fighting to keep themselves above the play-in tournament line, this is a serious blow, especially when compiled with the previous injuries to LaMelo Ball and Malik Monk. The 2019-2020 Hornets starting lineup — Devonte’ Graham, Terry Rozier, Miles Bridges, PJ Washington and Cody Zeller — will be leaned upon heavily to make up for the loss of offensive production.

The hits just keep on coming. Charlotte’s rotation is decimated without Ball, Hayward and Monk and it couldn’t have come at a worse time; the team is in the midst of a tough road trip with some good teams ahead of them, and the middle of the pack in the East is a hotly-contested mess. It’ll be really tough for the Hornets to come out of these next four weeks unscathed.
