Hornets pre-draft workouts: July 18th through July 23rd

The Charlotte Hornets continue to bring prospects in for workouts as the 2021 NBA Draft draws near. In the last one of these updates, I mentioned that I was hoping to see more lottery prospects in for workouts. The Hornets listened, as they should. Here are the participants for the last three workouts.

That cluster of workouts includes Kai Jones, Moses Moody, Corey Kispert, and Alperen Şengün, all of whom are in play for the Hornets pick at 11. We’ve already put together decent summaries of all four of those players, as well as second round prospect Neemias Queta, in our Buzzworthy Picks series:

• Neemias Queta

Jones has the distinction of getting a solo workout, but as I suspect was the case with Jalen Johnson, I think that was more a matter of he and his camp requiring that rather than the Hornets electing to host him by himself.

Other interesting names on the list include LSU’s Cam Thomas, who seems more like a back half of the first round prospect. He’s a big time bucket getter that doesn’t really do anything else well. Mac McClung is basically the greatest player of all time if you go by what Instagram and YouTube mixtapes will tell you.
