Free agency officially opens at 6:00 Eastern time this evening, though it surely began long ago. There are already reports of moves that are already planned out to occur as soon as free agency begins, which means there has to be some back and forth between teams and agents and others involved.
The Hornets extended a qualifying offer to Devonte’ Graham, but not to Malik Monk. Any offer Graham agrees to today or in the coming days can be matched by the Hornets. Monk, Cody Zeller, Bismack Biyombo, and Brad Wanamaker are unrestricted and free to sign with any team. That includes the Hornets if the Hornets are able to fit them within their cap space.
The Hornets will have a shade under $10 million to play with, so don’t expect anything too crazy coming from the Hornets side of things. The rest of the NBA won’t be so quiet.
This is now an open thread!
