When: 6:00 om EDT
Where: Cox Pavilion; Las Vegas, NV
How to watch: NBA TV
I don’t what all to write about this game. We haven’t really seen any of these Hornets players in action enough to know what we’re looking for. We know James Bouknight and Kai Jones are going to get a lot of minutes, but where they get those minutes will be something to watch. Jones might be best suited to play the five at the NBA level, but the same goes for Vernon Carey and Nick Richards, and both of them will be getting plenty of minutes as the summer league goes on.
Bouknight is going to be a wing when the regular season starts in a couple months, but I wouldn’t be surprised if the Hornets act a lead ball handler for stretches to see how he handles it.
We’ll also get a look at Arnoldas Kulboka for the first time in a few years. He was decent when he played summer league with the Hornets previously, but a lot has changed since then.
Perhaps the most interesting storyline will be that of LiAngelo Ball. No one has really seen him play a competitive basketball game in several years. The coaching staff has said he’ll get a shot, so it’ll be interesting to see how he plays and if he warrants consideration for an NBA roster spot.
